The Duan group in Biomedical Engineering at CUHK is interested in innovative biomedical applications based on the cutting-edge optogenetic method.  We focus on designing and developing optical strategies to remotely and non-invasively control critical intracellular processes,  such as signaling pathways and organelle activities. These novel strategies will obtain unprecedented spatial and temporal resolution, and provide promising approaches to drug discovery and gene therapy.
